FAMILY MATTERS-Based Questions & Commentary Coming Your Way...

Tags:

As some of you know, I took the last year off (from my career as a marketing executive) to pursue a long-held dream: to become an inventor and an entrepreneur. ----- I founded Better Indeed LLC to make/market products that help people live better lives. My first offering, FAMILY MATTERS, is an award-winning, get-to-know-your-family-better board game that gets your family talking. While played by families of all kinds, it is intended primarily for families of all kinds with children 6-16. ----- The game is card-based and incredibly interactive. Soon, in fact, players can go to our website and download card templates to create their own card content, thus personalizing or customizing the game. ----- Moreover, they will be able to submit their original content to our website or to other social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter) for peer review - plus consideration for use in future card sets! ----- To market the mission (as they say) and to highlight the game's goodness I shall dedicate a good number of my posts to various family-oriented and parental issues and themes brought up by the game. ----- I will feature, for example, each of the game's "Fake Family Crises" -- hypothetical, family-affecting issues that players must resolve together albeit in different roles. In doing so, family members will further develop their empathy levels as they can better appreciate what it's like to be a different person in a given situation. Equally, they will understand that there are several different ways (not just one way) to "resolve" an issue. This will, hopefully, help when the issues are no longer so "fake." ----- This new concentration will not be a major departure from my normal posts; it's just that my sources will, initially, be more singular in nature (i.e., deriving from my game). ----- My current plan is to (a) write a 250-word, game-derived essay which I will post to my blog; (b) Twitter the question itself in hope that other parents will find them worth thinking about and sharing; and (c) Twitter my essay about the question for those who might be interested in my own personal take. ----- As always, this is a flexible model so changes are to be expected. Please share your thoughts with me by commenting on my website, our Facebook page, and our Twitter page. Or, if your prefere, address me individually via e-mail: david@betterindeed.com. ----- Thank you!
